I’m Jeff Colonel, a teacher and father. After spending my life in classrooms, I could understand why most kids don’t like the old approach to education. As I taught my son, I let him choose how he wanted to customize his learning.
Open Source Dad is our experiment in what happens when you give a child a hand in building the project of his own life, instead of held to a script written by someone else.

Who are we?
I am a teacher with an Ms. ED. from the University of Pennsylvania who spent 16 years in classrooms of every type across five countries. I specialize in teaching kids how to love learning.
Danny is a 4 year old boy who says yes to every adventure.
We are definitely not aliens from the future, sent to teach humans how to be awesome. We are ordinary humanoids, same as you.
